After wax

After waxing at home, there are a few things you can do to help soothe the skin and prevent irritation:

  1. Avoid hot baths: It’s best to avoid hot water for at least 24 hours after waxing, as the heat can irritate the skin and increase sensitivity.
  2. Wear loose clothing: Tight clothing can rub against the skin and cause irritation, so opt for loose, breathable clothing after waxing.
  3. Avoid sweating: Sweating can cause irritation and increase the risk of ingrown hairs, so avoid strenuous exercise or activity for at least 24 hours after waxing.
  4. Moisturize: Apply a soothing, non-comedogenic moisturizer to the skin after waxing to help soothe and hydrate the skin.
  5. Exfoliate: To prevent ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the waxed area a 15 days after waxing. This can help remove dead skin cells and allow hairs to grow through the skin more easily.
  6. Avoid sun exposure: The skin may be more sensitive after waxing, so avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear sunscreen if going outside.

Overall, it’s important to take care of the skin after waxing to prevent irritation and promote healing. If you experience any redness, swelling, or other signs of irritation, apply a cold compress to the area and avoid touching or rubbing the skin. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult a medical professional.
